Sunflowers for Wishes is a fundraiser where 100% of proceeds benefit the Make-A-Wish Foundation of Connecticut.

Our 2023 event has ended.

Each year we plant over 14 acres of sunflowers and harvest approximately 300,000 blooms for your viewing pleasure and to benefit the Make-A-Wish Foundation of Connecticut, a non-profit organization dedicated to granting wishes to children with critical illnesses.

Sunflowers are available while supplies last.  We offer cut your own sunflowers with a $3 per flower donation to the Make-A-Wish Foundation of Connecticut.

100% of proceeds of our sunflower sales are given directly to Make-A-Wish, as well as proceeds from our t-shirt sales, which feature a unique sunflower design each season.

Over the past 19 seasons growing sunflowers we have been able to donate almost two million dollars to the Make-A-Wish Foundation, thanks to the generosity of our visitors.

History of Our Sunflowers

In 2003, at the suggestion of a friend, we planted a one-acre field of sunflowers. As they began to blossom, we learned that people were travelling from many miles away to admire and photograph them. When the blooms expired, we used them as feed for our cows, but we felt that we could find a better use for the flowers and later established the “Sunflowers for Wishes” fundraiser.

The fundraiser is to benefit the Make-A-Wish Foundation of Connecticut, a non-profit organization devoted to making wishes possible for children with critical illnesses.

In 2004 our sunflower fields expanded to 10 acres, and we now plant 14 acres and harvest 300,000 blooms each summer. Because of our efforts, Griswold is now the sunflower capital of Connecticut.
